The oldest story of man is one of man’s power of choice and the consequences of Adam and Eve’s selection. The power of choice is one of our greatest privileges and responsibilities.
You see, the power of choice is only held by man. No animal or plant can make vital decisions concerning eternity. God made us unlike any other – we are made in the very likeness of God.
While we have the unique ability to make choices, the responsibility of seeing that choice through, lies with us also, so that we may have a victorious outcome. We must pay in advance for successful consequences. A student who would excel and get good grades worthy of honor must study and study. The athlete who would become a winner must have a trained and a physically fit body. Good health can come from having a good diet, rest, and the proper exercise. Even the Christian who wants a life of victory and spiritual power must spend time reading the Bible and walking with God. Positive consequences which we gain in life must first be paid for after the choice is made.
Now, the future is in your hands. No one can close the door on his future but himself. Make the choice today to make serving Christ your choice . Joshua, the general of Israel, said it well when he stated, “Choose ye this day whom ye will serve, but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
