Solomon said, “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is within your power to act.
The promises of God are many and great, and they can be counted on in a time of need. We have watched the devastation that has been caused by Hurricane Harvey in the past few days. It’s been overwhelming. Thousands of people in Texas are without homes and many lives have been lost. We need to pray for these precious people. The rain has ended for now but the massive rescue and clean-up will continue. God has promised a blessing to the people who take care of those in true need. This land has been built on great Biblical principles and this is what has made us great and will keep us great.
Compassion is the sympathetic consciousness of the distress of another, with a deep desire to alleviate it. Let’s resolve to be a blessing and show a great concern for each other. As the Proverb says, “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth to the Lord; and, that which he hath given will he pay him again”.
God bless each of you and may God bless those in the midst of crisis. We stand together as brothers and sisters in Christ.
