Visiting Chestertown Baptist Church

Visiting a church for the first time can be a trying experience. We want your first visit to Chestertown Baptist Church to be a memorable one. You will find an exciting, refreshing, and friendly atmosphere that will be enjoyable for you and your whole family. You will experience wonderful music, helpful and encouraging preaching, friendly people, and a place where you won’t just feel “Welcomed” but also feel “Wanted.” Here are a few answers to questions you might have regarding your first visit to CBC.

When are your services?

Our main worship service begins every Sunday morning at 11:00. Our worship service is filled with Christ-honoring music and wonderful preaching. The Sunday evening service starts at 6:00 P.M., and the Wednesday night Bible study begins at 7:00 P.M.

Sunday School: (all ages) 10:00AM
Sunday Morning Worship: 11:00AM
Wednesday Evening  is our Family Nite:  We meet @ 7.  There is something for all ages!

What should I expect on my first visit?

As you are driving east on 291, you cannot miss the beautiful campus that God has blessed us with over the years. When you first arrive at the church, pull up under the front canopy and allow our parking valets to park your car for you. At the front door you will find someone to greet you, hand you a church bulletin, and assist you in finding a seat if need be. They are also there to answer any questions you may have.

We have one worship service where you can enjoy inspiring music through congregational worship, the choir, ensembles, and soloists. The music is always followed by an encouraging and challenging message from God’s Word by Pastor Shane. The service is usually one hour long. Before the morning worship service, many adults attend different Sunday school classes at 10 A.M. These classes are broken into smaller groups, allowing for teaching specifically applicable to a certain group or life-stage. There are Sunday school classes for children, teens, young couples, college and career students, women, and adult couples. The best way to get to know people at Chestertown Baptist Church is to attend one of these Bible classes.

Is there a place for my children?

With quality nursery facilities, there is something special for every child of every age. During every service, we have safe, clean, and well staffed nurseries for children three years old and under. Mothers of infants will receive a pager so that the nursery attendants can easily contact them if there is a need. For children four years old through sixth grade there are fun, friendly, Bible classes. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church enjoyable and memorable for your child.

We would like to help you find the appropriate nurseries, classes, and services for every person in your family. Our greeters and ushers are located in the main lobbies and they will gladly direct you and escort you to the right place.

What about teenagers?

Our teen ministry is broken up into three divisions: Junior high (7th-9th grade), Senior high (10th-12th grade), and College and Career (18-25 years old).Within the Junior and Senior high divisions, there are separate classes for boys and girls. These Bible classes include age specific material that will encourage your teens to walk with Christ. Each class begins at 10 A.M. and lasts for forty-five minutes. The teens attend the Sunday school meeting and then attend the morning worship service in the main auditorium.

On Wednesday evening at 7 P.M., the teenagers meet in the youth auditorium for a worship service geared toward them. They will enjoy singing, games, and a challenging message from God’s Word.

How should I dress?
